Disappointing south korea in world cup
오늘 한국 축구가 벨기에에 져서, 16강 진출에 탈락했다.
보는 내내 선수들의 모습이 안스러웠다.
체력적으로 힘들어 보이고, 기술면에서도 기량이 많이 뒤쳐져 보였다.
우리는 안타깝게도 경기를 즐길 수 없었다.
그리고 경기가 다 끝나자, 알 수 없는 실망감과 허무함이 밀려왔다.
그런데, 왜 그런 기분이 들까 ?
사실 같은 나라 선수이기는 하지만, 나랑 상관없는 친구들 아닌가..
아마도 내가 그들과 나를 동일시 하기 때문에 아닐까 싶다.
그들의 실패가 나의 실패 같고, 그들의 실패가 내 동생, 내 형제의 실패와 같은 생각이 들기 때문이다.
사실 월드컵을 하기 전에는 나 스스로 좀 싱드렁했었다.
그런데, 러시아와의 월드컵 첫 경기를 할때 새벽에 눈이 번쩍 띄어졌다.
왠지 알수 없는 긴장감을 느끼며, 내 새끼들이 잘해줬으면 하는 하는 그런 기대를 했던 것이다.
Once our south korea lost to Begium, they were eliminated in the group stage.
It was so sad to see their poor shape
They looked so tough and laborious / toilsome as a lack of physical and technical capacity, compared to opponents
벅차다 고달픈
Impatiently, we never enjoy the game.
안타깝게도
When the game was over, I was puzzled with inexplicable disappointment and emptiness
당황하다
I was curious , so why even those feeling arise ?
Although those athletes is korean like me, what does their failure matter with me ?
Maybe the reason is that I equates them with me.
I might feel their failure is the same as mine , they are like my sister, my brothers
In fact, before the World Cup, I never realized I am expecting too much about korean’s play
However, for the first game with Russia, I was waken in spite of myself in the dawn.
나도 모르게

For South Korea, this was a disappointing end to a disappointing World Cup. Up a man for the whole second half, they still had a chance (albeit a mostly mathematical chance) to go through to the knockout rounds. But they failed to create many opportunities to score, failed to finish any of the opportunities they created and, ultimately, failed to make any meaningful impression on this tournament.
